The rare tonka bean is a real gourmet rarity, due to its low harvest yield and its intensive flavour. Now, for the first time, it’s been possible to biocertify a limited number of wild growing areas in Brazil. There, the beans are gathered by the Quilombola people in the rainforest of the Amazon, and processed further in small drying houses. Our tonka beans come on a bed of organic raw cane sugar. An excellent combination – as the highly fragrant sugar can be used additionally for flavouring or as a topping.
